The installable demo has two biomes, the Deep Forest and the Canyon, in sunshine, fog or an optional storm. The ride starts in a sunny Deep Forest by day and alternates between the two zones on an endless road; the options panel lets you pick the weather. The full game has 19 biomes, more weather, landmarks and wildlife.

What is in the app
- Deep Forest: tall pines, glades, rain and thunder in a storm, mist in fog.
- Canyon: red sand, towering walls and arches.
- Sunny, fog and storm weather (Auto, Sunny, Fog or Storm from the cockpit panel), and time of day.
- Speed from head motion alone, the gaze-dwell cockpit menu, biome music and nature sound.
- A small DEMO mark on the bike computer. The demo installs as its own app (VR Velo Demo) and never touches the full game.
What you need
- A Meta Quest 3 (the demo is built for the Quest 3 only).
- A bike on a trainer, smart or plain.
- A computer (Windows, macOS or Linux) and a USB-C cable, to install the file.
Install it (sideloading)
- Turn on Developer Mode. Create a free developer organisation at developers.meta.com, then in the Meta Horizon phone app open Menu, Devices, your headset, Headset settings, Developer Mode and switch it on. Restart the headset.
- Download the file above to your computer.
- Connect the headset with the USB-C cable and put it on. Allow USB debugging when it asks (tick Always allow).
- Install the file with one of these:
- SideQuest (sidequestvr.com): open it, check the headset shows as connected, then drag the APK into the window.
- Meta Quest Developer Hub (developers.meta.com): choose your device, then Device Manager, and drag the APK onto it.
- adb, the command line:
adb install -r bike-in-vr-demo.apk
- Start it. In the headset open your library, choose Unknown Sources in the filter and start VR Velo Demo.
- Ride. Sit on your bike, look straight ahead and hold your gaze on the reset button under the speed display to recenter. Then pedal.
The demo is an early build and not an official Meta Store app, so Meta shows it under Unknown Sources. To remove it, long-press it in the library and choose Uninstall.
